I am looking for an improved vehicle model to make it more realistic, if anyone is willing to help me out here - a low-mass "truck" with a 3d cyclist model attached so that it would cast a more appropriate shadow, that kind of thing. USBcycle is generic enough that it could be adapted to x-trainers, treadmills, etc. There are already video-bikes in many gyms but I have to say ETS2 is a way larger and more beautiful world than any I have seen so far in commercial release. I have been thinking that SCS might want to think about this some, as it could open up a whole new market in gyms and spas where people would really like the bike touring sim (and be willing to pay big bux for a dedicated stationary bike setup). I do have contact indirectly with a guy who has a small PCB pick-n-place setup. Doubt I could make any money on it but I might be able to break even. That would take some more effort, of course, to design a custom PCB and get it fabbed and so on, but if there is enough interest I might take it in that direction. I am actually considering whether to build these as a for-sale thing. I have been editing all this doco for days and would welcome reader comments: typos, unanswered questions, unclear points, etc. Note to devs: now you know why I'm so appreciative of those scenic, winding, two-lane country roads! I get bored after 10 minutes on an exercise bike, but I can easily go EBS-ing for an hour or more every evening. You can get the sense of the project by watching theīottom line: it's working! I have been riding my MTB around ETS2-land for weeks now, have put several thousand km (virtual) on the bike, and it's a blast This is the prototype version of course, and there are several annoying issues I'd like to resolve/improve but it's the most interesting and fun exercise bike / trainer I've ever ridden whether you're sweating your way over the Pyrenees or rolling along easily on the flatlands, the illusion is reasonably convincing.
